My dissertation is a research project that should closely resemble a literature review reported in a peer-reviewed journal. Its organization should therefore follow the standard format of the articles in these journals. Examples of good review papers can be found in these journals: -Psychological Bulletin -Annual Review of Psychology -Review of General Psychology -Personality and Social Psychology Review The final report should contain an abstract (max 250 words). The body text should be no more than 6000 words long (excluding the abstract, references, and any appendices). Try to explain what the main research question is asking (does pet ownership satisfy safety needs?) and provide what research methods have been used to pose the question. Try to critically evaluate the Basic Psychological Needs theory using studies to support it, and find an emerging theme and narrative to explain the process of thinking leading to the conclusion, and convey the theme at the end with the conclusion. Attached is a PowerPoint poster outlining what to include in the dissertation. Try to focus on pet ownership specifically satisfying safety needs, rather than just mental health.
