ESSAY 2 – ANALYSIS OF SYMBOLISM,SETTING, OR POINT OF VIEW (NARRATOR) INTRODUCTION

– Brief background – author’s name,title of the story, overview of story,and THESIS {main idea). You want to convey how and why the author uses symbolism,setting,or point of view (NARRATOR) in the story. BODY – Consists of two to three or more paragraphs supporting the author’s use of symbolism,setting, or point of view . Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence that introduces the topic (which supports the thesis),and information from the text (quote,summary, etc.) to support that point,and critical commentary (analysis). REFUTATION – This is essential part of an argument paper, so make sure you acknowledge that all readers may not agree with your point of view but that your view is the more accurate and give an Example of your view here. CONCLUSION -Summarize the points you have made in your paper and restate your thesis • You may choose any of the stories that we have read so far (except stories you have already used to write a paper). Your essay should be 500 words in length (3 typed, double spaced pages-this includes Work Cited page). It should contain MLA in-text citations for your quotes and summaries and a Works cited page with MLA citations .
