Assignment 1 (Individual 25%) This assignment has three parts, A, B and C,

 

 

PART A: Case study

Each student in the group will develop a case study on an international entrepreneur from a country of their choice with a specific focus (see list below which will allocated to the members of each group – that is if a group has 5 members each will do a case study on a different international entrepreneur with a specific focus eg technology). (Therefore if you are assigned technology entrepreneurship, you will find an international entrepreneur who is a technology entrepreneur also). Information gathered on the entrepreneur and their firm should be entered on the research template provided (this is available on Blackboard) and submitted with the case study. 1000 words maximum excluding references.

    

    Template Guidelines:

 

1.Complete the template as fully as possible.

2.Include references, online sources of information etc.

 

The template will not count to the word count

 

 

B. PART B (THEMES)

Student will then prepare and submit a second part for this assignment, where they are required to identify the main International Entrepreneurship themes emerging from the case study, and how the focal international entrepreneur and their firm confirm/disconfirm the relevant International Entrepreneurship literature, 500 words maximum excluding references

 

(A+B Total 1500 words)

Due date: Individual written pieces (Part A & B) should be submitted to in Week 10     

                    through UK Turnitin  on BBL. The presentations will take place in class

                    time in Week 11.

 

Feedback: General feedback from assignments will be provided in class (Week 11/12). Results including individual written feedback will be available Week 12 and will be e mailed in Blackboard.

                     In addition students may make appointments for further individual feedback.

 

Students should display competence in K1, K2, K3, K4, I3, I4, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, T1,T2, T3 and T4.

 

 

C.Group presentation (15%) Part of Assignment 1 – The group members will exchange cases and present a short summary of how the cases collectively are similar/dissimilar and how they confirm/disconfirm the extant literature on your allocated topic. This presentation should be approx. 35-40 minutes duration and no more than 10 slides. There will be discussion and synthesis of the presentations at the end of this session, the aim of which is to facilitate peer-to-peer learning.
