Interview with an Advanced practice Nurse role

Select and contact the APN to interview (NP, CNS, CNM, CRNA, NIS etc.). Make sure her practice is in an area that you wish to practice. For example, if you wish to practice in education then you must interview an NP/APN that practices in an educational setting.

The purpose of this interview is for you to gain insight into the advanced practice role. After the interview, complete a 3 to 4 page paper to summarize the interview. You can paraphrase or supply direct quotes. Be sure to have a logical, organized flow to the submitted paper. Follow “Written Assignments and Safe Assign Guidelines” page 4 of syllabus. The following sections must be addressed using clear and logical organization in the paper: A. Introduction Discuss the advanced practice nurse chosen for this interview (clinical setting, background, etc.) Include the setting where the APN practices and clinical history of the APN.
