The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of the history and current status of medical dominance in the areas of health and medicine. For this assignment you will record a podcast on the topic of medical dominance and comment on your fellow students’ podcasts. Your podcast should be 10 – 15 minutes long and should be geared towards someone without special knowledge of sociology or health and medicine. Imagine someone heard the term “medical dominance” and then came across your podcast while searching for information about it. The podcast should cover the following topics: what medical dominance is, a brief history of medical dominance, and a challenge (or challenges) to medical dominance. It should conclude with your own scholarly analysis of medical dominance. You should use at least three other scholarly sources in the podcast. Your analysis should conclude with your research-informed opinion as to whether medical dominance is good or bad overall for patients, and why.
