Criminal Law- A case study on the Netflix documentary “Making a

 

 

First Student Evaluation: Written Report Each student will complete a case study on the Netflix documentary “Making a Murderer.” This two-part series (10 episodes each) that details the arrest, prosecution and conviction of a man on two separate murder charges.

The “Making a Murderer” case study will be a minimum of twenty (20) pages in length. The maximum number of pages allowable is twenty-five (25). The papers will be written in American Psychological Association (APA) Style (1.5 spacing, Arial 12pt font, 1 inch margins). The case study will: 1) provide an overview of the documentary according to the Police and Security Studies critical areas of competency (Intelligence and Criminal Analysis, Forensic Science, and Leadership and Management), 2) apply two concepts from each of the previous 14 courses in the Police and Security Studies core curriculum, and 3) develop an independent analysis of the criminal cases and identify specific problem areas. This is not a descriptive paper, you must provide analytical thinking. -Provide a multi-faceted overview of the criminal case. -Understand fundamental standards that support focused law enforcement. -Communicate effectively in written and verbal form. -Apply course concepts to a case study. -Identify best practices for sustaining success. -Analyze the leadership and management actions that take place in law enforcement and court systems. -Develop an independent conclusion based on the facts of a criminal case. -Analyze the moral and ethical issues of a high-profile criminal case. -Apply a problem-solving approach to security issues and crime
