A 68-year-old retired female police officer presented to the clinic with dysphagia and leg weakness on the left side. Eight years previously, she had developed a cervical transverse myelitis which had resolved and then recurred 2 years later following which she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She was forced to retire because of this and is obviously still bothered by this fact as she mentions it a few times during the assessment. She complains that she first noticed the weakness and dysphasia today while at work. She is coughing and constantly clearing her throat. He vitals are 129/64, 68, 14, 98.0. She takes aspirin and buspar on a daily basis.
