  1. Develop 5 possible open-ended discussion questions relating to the topic. Open-ended questions require thought  and are not simple “yes” or “no” questions (each question created is worth 1 point)

Page/slide 3 (5 points):

  1. Include a curriculum wheel or a curriculum web (Links to an external site.) (you can use this as a resource (Links to an external site.)) for your project showing the the different subjects that will be integrated as well as the activities that will be implemented for each (each subject and activity is worth 1 point)
  2. Choose 5 from the following:
    * Langauge Arts
    * Dramatic Play
    * Math (one activity must be graphing)
    * Art
    * Music/creative movement
    * Building
    * Science/cooking

Pages/slides 4-8 (5 points):

  1. Develop an individual slide for each subject that will be integrated, showing developmentally and culturally appropriate activities (each slide is worth 1 point)
    * Please include videos, images of activities, worksheets, projects, books, etc.
    * Ensure to write an explanation of the activity and how it relates to the selected subject

FOR EXAMPLE:

The idea is to create a cross-curricular unit so that you incorporate other content areas in the lesson. For instance, if you create a primary lesson on the plant life, you can incorporate:

  • A sentence writing component (language arts)
  • A number order activity as related to the plant cycle and what comes first, second, third, etc. (math)
  • A drawing of the plant cycle (art)
  • Students can plant seeds in a pot (building)
