Create a Presentation about Cultural Competence in Nursing Practice

Create a PowerPoint presentation that could be presented to your workplace about developing cultural competence in the nursing profession. The presentation should include a title, overview and reference slides, as well as address the following:

Define culture, multiculturalism and multicultural competence. Self-reflection questions, activities, or exercises relating back to course concepts. For example, you may want to incorporate an exercise on privilege or conduct a role-playing situation with counselors Explain how elements of culture affect behavior and interactions with others Share demographics relevant to audience (ethnic breakdowns for the community, school, etc.) Barriers that might exist Tips for improving intercultural communication and interactions A list of resources that participants could use Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide.

The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists. Support your presentation with at least 3 scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included. Length: 8-9 slides (with a separate reference slide) Notes Length: 250-350 words for each slide Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate.
