Q1

n order to present employees with a presentation of the outcome of an analytical plan, I would maintain a high-quality visualization that concisely shows patterns, trends, and information in a clear and organized way. In order to do this, I would pick a graph or chart that best achieves the goal of presenting the data in a way that effectively communicates the improvement initiative. For example, if I was trying to correlate data sets I would use a scatter plot with a trendline instead of a bar graph with a standard deviation. Different graphs are intended to show different things. A dashboard is a visual display of the most important information needed to achieve one or more objectives (Strome, p. 174, 2013). Dashboards are useful to administrators that are looking to consolidate information on a single screen. Rather than showing a multitude of graphs and screens and data, the dashboard allows for information to be presented concisely and in a time-saving fashion. In turn, this allows for better quality and improvement throughout organizations. I would personally design a dashboard with a graph as the main feature, followed by a text box that describes the trends and findings as well as compares it to past data or current comparison to give the data value and comparison. By giving the data context, I feel that those that are utilizing information from the dashboard have a better idea of what they are looking at. In order to make sure that analytic systems are accessible and usable, there are several factors and steps that go into maintaining such infrastructure. In a healthcare organization, it is important to organize all patient portals effectively, provide comprehensive documentation, reduce and reuse and minimize runtime (Strome, p. 180, 2013). These practices help mitigate common risks to analytics systems and provide support to having a smooth and positive experience with health care organizations’ analytics infrastructure.

Q2

An analysis plan is a document that is developed in advance to guide data analysis. The analysis plan usually contains research problems or questions, hypotheses, inclusion/exclusion criteria. Overall, this is a series of steps to find out and solve the problem. As the representative establishing the image of the process improvement project is important in front of the group. Present the whole plan of the quality improvement project and ask team members for their feedback. The advantage of the process improvement project it increases Profitability. Second, it decreases the threats to the organization. Other than this it helps in maintaining the consistency of care and finally it increases customer satisfaction. Overall, it drives improvement in group union and standards for dependability.

In health care, leaders of units, departments, clinics, and hospitals need to select a few important quality indicators that inform them about the processes and outcomes of the care they provide, and display a parsimonious set of indicators graphically, in an easily comprehensible manner.  An important feature of data dashboards, the dashboard should display ‘leading’ indicators and not ‘lagging’ indicators. For example, Data Dashboard to Monitor the rate of infection, patient length of stay and their experience, etc. While creating a dashboard, a few questions should be considered.  What indicators should be displayed? How should the data be analyzed and displayed? Where should the dashboard be displayed? Who should be able to view the data? These questions help to make a correct dashboard. (“Dashboards Leading Quality Indicators”, 2021)

Traditionally, hospitals and medical practices have used manual, labor-intensive methods like spreadsheets, combined with experience and intuition, to make decisions ranging from staffing plans, service line expansion, and resource allocation. Such processes are time-consuming, expensive, inaccurate, and inefficient. Advanced analytics tools have the potential to retrieve, connect and analyze this rich data set to provide insight to perioperative managers and hospital leaders to ensure they have the best services. In the hospital, the accessibility of data is limited to avoid HIPPA violations. Only doctors, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare workers who are involved in patient care are the only person who can access the healthcare data.
