To date each student has begun to build toward a project proposal:
My project topic is: How does the American culture of animated movie affect the American Tourism Industry?
A focus (one of the chapters from the Urry book: mass tourism; economies; working under the gaze; changing tourist cultures; places, buildings and design; vision and photography; or performances). A theoretical archive (annotated bibliography) of three (3) texts mined from the Deloria mixtapes and Urry chapters. For this assignment, submitting your project proposal, each student should draw from the toolbox of methods from Deloria (text, archive, genre, formation, and power) to think deeply about their individual approaches to their final paper. To use Deloria’s metaphor, you must shift through the gears in order to focus your research. In doing so, develop a research question. What is it you want to know about your topic in relation to your Urry frame? Revisit the Deloria toolbox to identify what you already know and what you need to find out. I will give you model of proposal, just follow that format to finish my proposal. I will upload 2 readings which are Urry and Deloria that we said, you just have to read the following chapters: choose one of the chapters from the Urry book: mass tourism; economies; working under the gaze; changing tourist cultures; places, buildings and design; vision and photography; or performances (find a chapter that has relation with my topic) should draw from the toolbox of methods from Deloria (text, archive, genre, formation, and power) to think deeply about their individual approaches to their final project. Then, find two bibliography and two google scholar for my topic. Then, give two research questions about the topic. finally, find some Potential Cultural Artifacts.
