Can legal gambling have any harmful effects? Describe a form of legal gambling that takes place and some of its harmful effects. If it is harmful why is it allowed in the first place? Is there a way to mitigate these harmful effects, and if so how?

Discussion Question: A mission statement is a statement of the purpose of a company or organization.  An organizational mission statement is a written declaration of an organization’s core purpose and focus that normally remains unchanged over time.  Ultimately, an organization’s culture (including policies and procedures) should reflect its mission.  Your objective this week is to research an organization (you must select an organization different from the one you selected for your midterm assignment) and determine how its mission statement impacts or guides the business operation.  Please provide the following in your initial post:

  • List the company you researched and provide the mission statement.    
  • Does the company’s public relations strategy (news disseminated on social media accounts, events, non-profit affiliations) and marketing materials (website, advertisements) accurately reflect the mission?  Why or why not?  Provide specific examples regarding how public relations and marketing either do or do not accurately reflect the mission statement.
